ROWELL FOSTER CHILDREN'S POSITIVE PLAN EDUCATION FUND

Every year more than 20,000 teens turn 18 and must leave foster care.

Below is information on the Rowell Foster Children's Positive Plan Education Fund which aired on the Dr. Phil show on July 14, 2004.

 

* Over 60% of foster youth have experienced a mid-year school change since the seventh grade.




 

 

*In a recent study at the George Warren Brown School of Social Work at Washington University in St. Louis 70% of foster teens polled were found to have a desire to attend college.

 

 

The goal of this fund is to ensure that financial roadblocks do not prevent foster youth from fulfilling their educational dreams. educational dreams.

 

This national scholarship program is designed to offer financial support to foster youth, like John Horn, who wish to pursue secondary education.
